April 2007

Ok, lesson for today: Face Parts. Ask me about various face parts, and I’ll show you where they are. Ok, let’s give it a go.

Where’s my nose?

Where’s my Eye???

Where’s my Chin??

Ooh, ooh, this is a tough one, I KNOW I know this one…..Garrrgh, let me think!

Oh yeah, here it is!

Did you follow all that? I know it’s complicated.

What? Why are you looking at me like that? Do I have something on my face? I do!!!!???? Why didn’t anyone tell me sooner!!!???

Don’t worry, we can review again tomorrow.

I had such an awesome time on Sunday. First Mom and I went to school with Dad and met some of his super nice classmates. They all seem to know so much about me, I can’t seem to figure out why? It’s not like he has time to talk about me while he’s discussing important law school topics like copyrights and finals, right?

Before Dad hit the books we ordered lunch from one of his favorite restaurants and I had my very own Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich!!!!

After lunch, Mom and I went to Alphabet Soup to meet up with all my oldest and dearest friends. I’ve known some of these girls and boys since I was no more than 6 weeks old!!!

Check it out, here are some of my friends, and their mommies:

The funny thing is, this was the first time when we all met when we DIDN’T talk about nap schedules. I guess we’re all just moving on to bigger and better things. And Mom and I are literally moving… so we’re not going to see any of these good folks for a long long time….. sniff…. sniff…. do you think Portland has babies, or er, toddlers? Will I ever make friends again? And more importantly, do they have Peanut Butter in Maine?

Well, we had a great time. I was all over the jungle gym and slide. Here’s more shots of my friends and their mommies and dad:

After the park, before heading home Mom and I met up with Dad again and we went out for another meal, this time I had the more mundane penne with red sauce…. ho hum. I guess every meal can’t be 4 Star PB&J.

I guess this is the end of an era for me, one of my last outings before leaving the city. No more Tess and the City.

In other news, SPRING IS HERE! I’ll have to come back later and tell you how much my life has changed since the warm weather arrived.

Did I ever mention how much I love books? Some babies have their blankets, others have binkies, yet others have loveys, bottles, nuk-nuks, pacis, thumbs, teddies, tattered pieces of worried thread-bare fabric… (woah, are we babies a bunch of comfort addicts or what?). Well, I have my books.

When I get down I like to go to my little library and just start swimming in the books. Mom likes to keep them lined up neatly on the shelf, just so I can pull them all down, one by one. She knows I love nothing more than a floor covered with a sea of books.

Whenever I’m bored I can take a book to Mom or Dad, say “Book!” and they’ll drop what they’re doing, pop me on their lap and read my chosen book to me. It doesn’t get any better than that.

It doesn’t have to be a story, or even a real book. I have a subscription to Wild Animal Baby magazine that makes for some very interesting reading.

Nothing beats a good educational magazine with breakfast.

At night I like to take good bedtime titles with me when I have my milk: Goodnight Moon, Goodnight Maine are some of my favorites.

Speaking of which, I’m headed to bed now. I had an AWESOME day with Mom out in the beautiful weather today. Unfortunately I’m too pooped to write about it. Tune in later and I’ll tell ya all about it!

I’m trying to get something sorted out and I need your help. I’ve been trying to straighten out the A, B and C. No, No, No, not the ABC’s, that’s what everyone keeps saying. I’m just talking about A. B. And C. I can’t figure them out!

Is the C the clingy one? It sort of has a renaissance collar effect, don’t you think? Or maybe it’s more Elizabethan? I always thought those things were called Buster Collars, but let’s not get bogged down in the details.

One thing I know is my favorite is the B! Why? I just think of all the cool words I can say that start with B? BALL, BABA, BOOK. Is B the bubbly one?

The worst part is I hear there are 23 MORE letters to learn…. I better hit the books!!

Happy belated Easter everybody!!!!

Well my 2nd Easter was a great success. My Easter Egg hunting has improved dramatically from last year (if you recall, last year I had the Stroller Handicap, so unless the eggs were perched in the treetops, I couldn’t see ’em let alone trot over to pick ’em up). But not this year. Now that I’m MO-BILE no Egg was outside my potential grasp. My Egg yield went from Zero last year, to Two this year! Pretty good growth, year-over-year, don’t ya think?

Check it, I scored a pink one:

and a blue one:

The weird part about Easter is the dressing up part. I had to get all girlie and everyone was ogling me all day, and I couldn’t walk around outside too much because Mom didn’t want me to get muddy. Why can’t they make an Easter dress out of fleece or something?

In other news, I also upgraded my wheels this weekend! Mom and Dad got tired of bending over my old scooter to push me around, so they got this sweet model with a handle bar for them to push and steer. I can’t really reach the pedals, but that doesn’t matter when you’ve got Dad to power you around everywhere!!!!

I also got to play with my cousins, and their dog and cat, which was awsome. Mom tried to get me to pose for a picture, but I was too busy trying to squirm off the couch and show off my walking skillz for her to get a decent shot. Oh well.

Well, gotta get to bed, I’m still trying to sleep off the sugar coma!
